taitaihood
as i’ve joined the ranks of tai-tai-dom till april, what better way to spend my sweet but short-lived tai-tai status than to have high-tea with a fellow tai-tai and wannabe tai-tais…
and if you look carefully, my plate was piled with the most food.
oops.
i AM eating for two you know. (right, aniq, right?)
as it was cny, we could hardly find any shops opened for some decent shopping. rin and i tried dfs next door, but the place was ironically teemed with, erm, chinese tourists. it’s like us going to shop at bukit bintang in malaysia during hari raya.
and my latest gripe: why oh why are baby boys’ clothes SO BLAHDY BORING? *squints jealously at zara girls’ baby clothes*
i’m this close to putting the little one in a pink shirt.
after all, pink on men, very metrosexual you know. (right, aniq, right??)
the nannies
“at your service,” they said, when i asked if they could help babysit aniq for a few hours. their payment came in the form of a mcdonalds lunch and later a kfc dinner. eh, not cheap, leh, these babysitters.

but they did an ok job. at least they didnt make the baby cry or inflict bodily harm on him. (i think.) however, they failed in the diaper-changing department. oi, potong gaji!
see, baby seemed a wee bit worried for his life. heee.
meanwhile, i did what i had to do for a certain publication…
erm, i won’t say which one. coz, erm, i have to see how i look in it first lah, lol! all i can say is, i’m glad those curls ain’t permanent. :S
and hey, even the baby had some shots for yet another wholesome family-friendly magazine…
he was pretty co-operative. i think he likes the limelight (and the lights).
after a few more of us together, he had a well-deserved rest.
can you see what the nannies put on his hands to keep him warm? SOCKS! gah!!
hello baby, please keep your hands to yourself eh! i know you like kak shaz very much.
aniq: “mmm, yummy…”
hairy issue
it felt like a long time since i had my hair trimmed, and i was starting to feel like a madwoman, especially at home, with hair plastered to my head drenched in sweat. add to that the sourish smell of stained milk and vomit. gah.
after we ran our errands and changed an overflowing diaper full of hot steamy poo in the car, we had time to kill.
the madwoman got to get her hair fixed and regain some of her sanity.
my whiny pleas to the hairdresser not to charge a poor mother newly out of confinement that extra $6 due to the CNY period didn’t work (*grumble grumble*), but he did give the babe a little snippety-snip to the bit of hair covering his ears, and a bit more at the back. we considered it a $6 haircut…

he looked somewhat puzzled by the whole affair.
we didn’t touch his jambul, though. we’ll keep that for another occasion.
marsya
he finally met up with the last of the december babes.
she was born on december 8. hmm, whose birthday does she share with?

unfortunately, it was sleepy time for them both. babies just love to snooze in the daytime, don’t they? hmph.
aniq, choose your girlfriend (and mother-in-law) wisely, ok.

lol!
these booties are made for walkin’…
sorry baby, you can’t have your cake and eat it too…

from aunties to aniq
so cantik kan kan kan?
i asked for yellow booties instead of blue, and unlike the rest of the cake, these booties will last forever. it took only a day for the ants to find its way to the cake, but they didn’t touch ‘em booties!

thorn among the roses…
thank you, aunties!
shavehead
aniq has many girl friends. all of ‘em december babes…

baby camillea and baby adriana! tsk, kids these days and their glamourous names.
we met both during their respective cukur rambut events. we’ve been contemplating whether it’s necessary to have one for aniq too. we’re not too keen on the logistics, really.
but adriana’s daddy offered to supply a coconut from one of the many coconut trees in front of their block. hehe.

aniq: “hmm, lemme think first whether i’m up for it, mum.”
i think his hair is long enough to tie dollar notes on. :p
but we’re definitely NOT gonna shave his whole head!
liberation
the only way i could keep him quiet while i get myself ready to go out is to:
a) feed him,
b) put him to sleep,
c) and keep him asleep in his favourite position…

it’s been a month since i had babycolt to myself, so i took babyaniq and his grandma out to town, where we met up with his other grandmas (my mum’s younger sisters).
check out one of aniq’s hot grandmas, here for a short visit from ozzieland. can you guess her age?

i was aniq’s age when she held me in her arms. she was fifteen then. (you do the math.)
he was quiet alllll the way while his hot grandma carried him, so i could… SHOP!
hurrah!
after being cooped up within four walls over the weekdays, it’s so… refreshing to get out and exercise my, er, driving and shopping skills again.
hari ulang bulan
he spent most of the cold, rainy day sleeping.
see, so comfy, he even posed in his sleep.
he was togged up in a little jubah from dubai (thank you aunty rai!).
coz it’s hari raya haji you know.
while i had to ransack my entire wardrobe to find a suitable baju kurung/kebaya to wear. thankfully, i found one i could fit in that’s ‘easy access’ for, erm, his meal times.
oh, did i mention it’s his first-month birthday too?
dah besar anak mak!
… but don’t grow up TOO fast, ok? :S
ny06
this week, our resident betty crocker aka nur made yummy muffins and fruit buns, reminiscent of those home ec days in school. but these taste better of course.

some of our visitors came too early to taste them. (they practically ate up the baby, though, but he retaliated with a little spewing action on aunty farah’s nice blouse haha!)

some were so shy they only had one each. (wana’s lovely mum tried to burp the lil fella after his feed, but she was as unsuccessful as me haha!)

even little ashaz had a taste. (ouhh he so reminds me of dadam! *squeeeeze*)

i like little boys. (ok, big ones too.)
thanks again everyone, for your company and your gifts. izad is envious that his baby has not one, but TWO pairs of levi’s jeans at just 3 weeks of age.
and i’m envious of everyone who got to watch the fireworks show yesterday.
now let’s recount my 2005 resolution:
1) awaken those dormant maternal instincts –> CHECK! hurrah!
2) save more money, shop less –> erm, half CHECK!
3) be more spiritual –> ermm… (to be continued in 2006)
i think i’ll be safe and not make any more resolutions this time round.
